The Stone Glossary defines the terms used in VeyraStone's catalogue, including material profile, commercial name, lot, slab, finish, vein direction, bookmatch, reinforcement, current-lot confirmation and evidence status. Definitions explain how the site uses a term; supplier documents, project specifications and applicable standards control when a contractual or technical definition is required.
A material profile describes a reviewed commercial stone identity, not a live stock item. A commercial name is the market name connected to the profile; it may not be a complete geological classification. Origin records the reviewed country relationship. A lot or block identifies proposed current material. Current-lot confirmation means that images, dimensions, documentation and commercial scope still require written review.
Background, movement, veining, inclusions, pores and banding describe visible character without promising uniformity. Finish describes a surface-processing direction such as polished, honed or textured, but the result remains stone- and fabricator-specific. Bookmatching uses adjacent faces to create mirrored movement. Resin, mesh, repairs and reinforcement should be disclosed and evaluated for the selected pieces and fabrication plan.
Published means a reviewed value is visible in the profile. Enquiry only means it may be discussed but is not offered as current stock. Confirmation required marks lot- or project-dependent information. Not published means the site has no public value, including current testing. An RFQ requests written scope; it is not an order, reservation, price guarantee or project approval.
