How to shortlist Architectural Onyx
White Onyx and Green Onyx are intended as visual discovery points for decorative applications such as feature walls, bars, vanities or custom elements. Their appeal depends on banding, color distribution and transmitted light, which can vary substantially. A backlit concept image cannot establish how an actual slab will transmit light or align across a composition.
Variation and evidence
Onyx can include fissures, resin, mesh, backing, repairs and fragile areas that affect handling and usable yield. Thickness, light source, diffuser, cavity depth and support change the final visual effect. Request front-lit and backlit current-lot images, representative samples and treatment disclosure, then review layout and replacement strategy before fabrication begins.
Project confirmation
Treat architectural onyx as a specialist material. Define low- or high-contact exposure, lighting system, panel dimensions, support, seams, edges, openings, heat, cleaning and maintenance. Coordinate the material with experienced fabricators, lighting designers and installers. The current profiles publish no testing data and do not approve structural, wet-area or working-surface use.
