Variation and evidence
The balance of pale, dark, warm and translucent-looking zones can vary strongly between slabs. Fissures, resin, mesh, reinforcement and fragile areas can influence usable yield and fabrication. A sample cannot represent the whole composition. Request high-resolution current-slab imagery with dimensions and identification, then map the intended cuts and reserve replacement material where appropriate.
