Artificial Stone Sourcing

Terrazzo Sourcing

VeyraStone does not currently publish an approved terrazzo product or installation system. A sourcing request should define whether the project needs precast units or a poured system, then identify binder, aggregate, color direction, thickness, substrate, joints, application, destination, specification and responsible installer. Product and system performance must be confirmed through current supplier and project documents.

Specify the terrazzo system

Terrazzo includes multiple systems and methods rather than one universal product. State whether the request concerns precast slabs, tiles, stairs, bases or a poured installation, and identify the binder or system when known. Define the intended environment, finished thickness, substrate, divider or joint approach and applicable project specification before comparing appearance or price.

Describe the visual and sample process

Provide the background color direction, aggregate type, size distribution, concentration and finish expected by the design team. A small digital image cannot establish the full appearance of a terrazzo field. Request a representative physical sample or mock-up and record its mix reference, finish, sealer and acceptance range so production or site work can be compared against a shared standard.

Coordinate installer and supply responsibilities

The enquiry should identify who supplies materials, who designs the assembly, who prepares the substrate, who installs or fabricates the system and who approves samples and completed work. Ask for relevant specifications, technical data, care guidance, quantity, packing for precast pieces, destination and schedule. A sourcing response must not imply installation approval or system compatibility without those reviews.

Written confirmation

What to include in the next brief.

  1. Define precast or poured system, binder, aggregate, format, thickness and application.
  2. Provide substrate, joint, divider, edge, finish and responsible-installer information.
  3. Request technical specifications, samples or mock-ups, care guidance and acceptance criteria.
  4. Confirm quantity, packing, destination, schedule, scope division and warranty in writing.

Evidence basis

Reviewed sources

Sources support the visible general guidance. They do not approve a selected product, lot, assembly, fabrication method, installation or commercial offer.

  1. Technical Specifications National Terrazzo & Mosaic Association

System-specific terrazzo specifications, details and technical reference material.

  2. Dimension Stone Design Manual Natural Stone Institute

Comparison context for natural-stone selection and installation responsibilities.

Project inquiry

Turn this guide into a written project brief.

Include the application, material direction, dimensions, quantity, destination, needed date and required evidence. Current products, lots, documents, availability and commercial terms are confirmed in writing.
